Dr Vimal Patel BChD

Principal Dentist and Clinical Director

Studied at University of Leeds Dental School

Qualified dentist since 1993

Vimal is an experienced, forward-thinking dentist and he leads the team here at Whole Tooth. Combined with a gentle touch and a cheeky sense of humour, he likes to put nervous patients at ease, taking the time to explain all aspects of the care involved.

He likes to give no-nonsense advice that is often based on what he would do for himself. He is committed to providing high quality dental care and is very keen on preventative and minimally invasive dentistry.  He thoroughly enjoys his job and in particular likes to carry out a smile tidy, which can make a huge difference to someone’s smile. His other interests are Invisalign, dentures and composite filings.

He is married to Dershna, and they have two teenage children. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, cinema, and cycling. He can often be seen walking around Leighton Buzzard in the early morning, or during his lunch hour, in order to reach his daily target of 12,460 steps.


Christiaan Liebenberg BChD

Qualified since 1989

Christiaan is one of our experienced team of dentists, and he really enjoys improving his patients’ smiles. His calming and laid-back attitude makes coming to the practice stress free.

Christiaan likes travelling and enjoys reading the paper in the morning. He will often squeeze in a visit to the gym when he gets a chance.


Joanna Stafford BDS

After graduating from Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002, Joanna worked as an associate in a general mixed dental practice in Teeside, Cleveland. She was there for 5 years before moving back home to Hertfordshire.

She has been an associate at Whole Tooth Dental Practice since April 2007. As well as enjoying family dentistry, she has also qualified in the postgraduate Advanced Dental Seminar’s Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry 1 year certificate course, as well as ‘short term orthodontic’ courses in Invisalign, Six Month Smiles, and Inman.

Joanna is married to Matthew and they have a daughter and son.


Amrita Bhogal BDS (Birm) MFDS RCSed

Studied at University of Birmingham

Qualified since 2006

Since qualifying from the University of Birmingham in 2006, Amrita has enjoyed her positions working as a family dentist. She is a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons and a postgraduate qualification in Dental Education.  

Amrita enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is consistently pushing herself to learn more and keep up to date with the latest treatments.

Amrita has an eye for the art of Facial Aesthetics. This is something she is very passionate about and has developing quite a following at Whole Tooth. She takes the natural approach in enhancing a patient’s own beauty and gains much pride from seeing a patient’s confidence grow as a result of her work.

Amrita is married to Sandeep and they have two small boys. In her spare time, Amrita loves to cook and explore cuisines from all over the world. Holidays and family time make her happy.

Ruben Garcia graduated from the University of Madrid, Spain, in 2005.

He worked at a private practice in Spain before moving to the UK in 2007 to work for NHS and private practices. In 2011 he was selected for the three-year full-time programme in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute (London) where he obtained an MClinDent in Periodontology and Implantology (2014) together with a Certificate in Periodontology from the European Federation of Periodontology. In addition, he was also awarded one of the most important degrees in dentistry, the Membership in Restorative Dentistry, by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Glasgow, a degree that grants entry to the GDC specialist list in Periodontics.

In terms of clinical research, he has an active research portfolio focusing on the treatment of gum disease in patients with systemic diseases which he has carried out as part of his extensive training at the Eastman Hospital. In addition he has joined the Periodontics Department team at King’s College London, in order to help with the teaching of his speciality. He is also a locum consultant at this prestigious institution.

Ruben has extensive experience in periodontal treatment, including non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal diseases which includes conventional and regenerative periodontal surgery, periodontal plastic/aesthetic surgery, and alveolar bone augmentation procedures.

Amar Mehta BDS MJDF RCS (Eng) MClin Dent (Endo)

Dentist (with Masters in Endodontics)

Amar qualified from Barts and The London Dental Institute in 2010, Amar has a broad range of dental experience including completing his dental foundation training year in Northampton and spending 5 years in the NHS. During this time, he gained his MJDF Qualification (Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England), gained his accreditation to the elite Invisalign group and certificate from the Gradia Composite Course in Belgium.

However, his passion was focused on Endodontics and treating patients with diagnostic problems. In 2015, he decided to pursue his passion and started his Specialist Training in Endodontics at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital which he is due to complete in September 2018. He has completed the first part and gained his Masters in Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics in 2017. The training has given him extensive experience in diagnosing complex endodontic problems, dealing with traumatic injuries to teeth, provision of non-surgical primary root canal treatment, root canal re-treatments and surgical endodontic, all using a strong evidence based foundation and biological understanding.

Amar has a keen interest in providing a patient-centred approach to his dentistry and recognises the importance of being able to talk to his patients and make them feel at ease. He is committed to providing the highest standard of patient care.

In his spare time, Amar is an active member of the British Society of Endodontics and is an avid player/watcher of all types of sports.


Zeyneb Al-Shebib Lic. Odonto. (Spain), MSc. Orth (Warwick)

Dentist with special interest in Orthodontics

Ram Challa

Oral Surgeon

Ram is with us for one session per month, carrying out oral surgery for our patients. He works at Milton Keynes Oral Surgery Department in the week. Ram is very gentle and makes sure that the patient is at ease throughout the treatment. He also provides sedation for our very nervous patients.


Cara McAleavey

Studied at Eastman Dental Hospital

Qualified since 2007

Cara will help you to look after your gums, hold onto your teeth, and maintain fresh breath. She has a very gentle touch, and is able to motivate patients, without giving them a lecture.

She has helped many patients turn a visit to see a dental hygienist into a positive experience.


Carol Berra

Dental Therapist / Hygienist

Studied at Portsmouth Dental School

Carol, who graduated from Portsmouth University Dental School, is a dedicated dental hygienist with a great commitment to her patients. Within this role Carol ensures patients have an essential understanding of preventive care, sharing top-tips and good techniques along with delivering thorough dental cleaning. Carol always puts the patient first, ensuring they are at ease, and she continually adapts to meet their individual needs.

In her spare time Carol enjoys sewing and needlework, but when the sun is shining she can be found embracing the outdoors, walking the scenic countryside.


Jemma Tapp DIPhe DHT RCS

Dental Therapist / Hygienist

Jemma qualified as a hygiene therapist in 2012 (Kings College London).

Jemma has a passion for treating gum disease, and enjoys the rewards that come from improving a patient’s oral and general health.

She continues to participate in training outside of work, especially in new technology to improve dentistry, and in the latest techniques for treating gum disease.

Jemma got married in 2015 and took her husband’s surname, to become Jemma Tapp.


Christianne McQuillan

Dental Hygienist

I qualified from Kings College Hospital Dental Institute in June 2017 as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist and have developed a wide range of skills. I am caring, knowledgeable and a competent professional. I have been commended for my management and support of patients with dentally associated anxiety and believe that excellent communication and rapport is key. With a holistic approach to patient care I deliver tailored treatment and oral health care advice based on individual needs.

I am the proud mother of two lovely children who enrich my life daily. In my free time I enjoy playing the piano, cookery and long dog walks through the countryside.



Accounts Manager

Along with Dershna’s accounting duties she also helps out on reception and is a qualified dental nurse.

Dershna has two children and in her spare time loves cooking and reading.



Practice Manager

Kelly is our practice manageress; she ensures the seamless running of the practice in front and behind the scenes. Kelly keeps the practice up to date with the latest guidelines and makes sure the practice evolves with the ever-changing face of dentistry, thus ensuring a smooth patient journey. She has a Diploma in Leadership and Management.

She contributes her dental skills by coordinating treatments, as well as assisting patients with all financial matters.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.




Clinical Manager

Emma works alongside Kelly, managing the clinical aspects of the day-to-day running of the practice. She is also an experienced dental nurse, and she leads our team of dental nurses here at Whole Tooth. She is proud to have achieved radiography and sedation qualifications.

In addition to her clinical duties, Emma is our website and graphics specialist, and is responsible for keeping our website current and easy to understand.

Outside of work Emma likes to spend time with her family, and take her dog for walks in the countryside.



Deputy Senior Dental Nurse

Kirsty is a senior member of our nursing team. She qualified in 2012 and completed her radiography qualification in 2015. Kirsty is our Invisalign coordinator, and she makes our plaster models, retainers, and tooth whitening trays.



Dental Nurse

Sharon is part of our dental nursing team and has been with us since 2011. She can occasionally be seen on reception but usually works with Joanna, one of our dentists.

When Sharon is not at work she enjoys sugar craft and spending time with her growing family.



Dental Nurse

Stacey qualified in 2008 via the national certificate and has since gone on to complete the national certificate in dental implant nursing and a certificate in dental radiography. She enjoys all aspects of her job, but her main passion is dental implants and oral surgery.

When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys reading.



Dental Nurse

Hollie started with us in 2016 as a trainee and is now qualified. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and works closely with Dr Amrita Bhogal specialising in facial aesthetics.

Outside of work she enjoys baking and spending time with family.




Apprentice Dental Nurse

Jenny is one of our trainee dental nurses. She is interested in specialising in dental surgery in the future.

In her spare time Jenny enjoys spending time with her horses and family.



Receptionist/Dental Nurse

Lisa works as part of our reception team – she always greets our patients with a smile when they arrive.  She also supervises our membership plans and ensures that everything runs smoothly.

Lisa is also a qualified dental nurse.

During her holidays Lisa loves to travel to new and exciting places.




Laura is part of our reception team and works alongside Lisa. Laura moved here and purchased her first house with her husband in 2017. She enjoys new challenges and meeting new people.

When Laura’s not working she enjoys baking cakes and treats and walking her dog.


Stuart Holcroft BSc (Hons)

As an associate of Whole Tooth Dental, Stuart specialises in removing fears and phobias.
